A bit about this old barn and Rita's Backyard . . .
Rita's Backyard - an outdoor center, tea room and gift shop - sits on just about two acres in Fishers, IN, and is located just 3 miles east of I-69 on 116th Street.
The grounds are a historic farmstead, built by a member of the Brooks family around 1904. The Brooks family was one of the founding families of Fall Creek. They donated a portion of their property for the original Brooks School, and Brooks School Road was named in their honor.
Bob and I purchased the property in 1998 with the express purpose of relocating our garden center from downtown Fishers to this historic site, and we have been here ever since!
In the Fall of 2009, the tea room was added to the gift shop, which is located inside the original Brook's family barn!
Bob and I'd love to show you around. Stop by any time!
